MTV Clutch Q&A: Black Eyed Pea Taboo Jumps Into The Sneaker Game

MTV: You have over 700 pairs of kicks? Do you have a favorite?
Taboo: My favorite pair are the TABOOXJUMP Zeto with crystals that I wore to the Grammys.
One of the world’s biggest sneakerheads with over 700 pairs of limited edition, one-of-a-kind sneakers in his collection and his favorites are JUMP x ZeeLush!
Seashells on the Seashore

Custom compact for Brandice Reyes (see initials).
Being a native Chamorro and leaving Guam to live in Manhattan, Brandice wanted a compact that reminded her of her roots, but still high-end and luxurious enough for her New York lifestyle. The inspiration behind this compact is a stroll on the beach. Sand colored crystals line the beach with coral shaped mother of pearls and shells. There is a sandal charm and red hibiscus flower– all remeniscent of the islands. The water is a clear turquoise crystal that get smaller as it kisses the shoreline to represent the tide.
Lovebird at Dusk – Jeweled Camera

ZLush’d Sony Cybershot.
Design: A branch twisting across the metal part of the lens. There is a bird perched on it (vintage pin) next to a cluster of leaves and berries (vintage earring).
Inspiration: Sundown. Gazing through the trees outside of my bedroom window, the night sky is an assortment of colors. Twilight is such a romantic time when the heavens glow in rich pinks, purples and blues; I chose lavendar and smoke-colored Swarovski crystals to add dimension on top of the metallic pink camera as to mimmick that effect. The vintage bird pin and earring both have sapphire, jewelled-tones– I paired them together against the “sky” to capture the feeling of those brief couple moments of dusk when the whole world slows down to focus on the beauty, serenity and enchantment of nature.
3D Peas
Taboo x JUMP x ZeeLush — custom made for the March 30th Black Eyed Peas concert at the Los Angeles Staples Center. It will also be broadcast live in 3D (courtesy James Cameron with Avatar technology) at AMC theatres nation-wide. It’s sexy time!
The combination of elements used almost looks like a gravel texture– which is so cool because if you look closely, you’ll see that it’s actually studs and crystals (rockstar-esque). And peep the suprise detail on the bottom of the shoe…
ZeeLush ♥s Guam
All I need is ZeeLush and a tan
iPhone case with a vintage hand pin and other golden charms, encrusted with emerald and jade swarovski crystals.
Forever in Blue Jeans
Cute Lizzie loves jeans and comfortable clothing… So I thought I would personalize a cellphone case that is denim themed. Three completely different effects of blue: sapphire crystal, light blue opal, and a dark metallic help create the feel of that denim texture.
She don’t believe in shootin’ stars, But she believe in shoes and cars
Taboo, Kanye, and David Guetta
(K. West said my shoes were sick!)
A GOOD, GOOD NIGHT
Taboo invited me to the sold-out Black Eyed Peas concert at Madison Square Garden the other night. It was an absolutely phenomenal show– I highly recommend watching them live if you every get the chance. I was also able to talk to Taboo at the after party about other collaborations. He confided that he reads ZeeLush.com so here’s a shout-out to Taboo… Hi! Just heard that I Gotta Feeling is the #1 Downloaded song of ALL TIME at US iTunes! Congrats!!!
Backstage: Me, the Black Eyed Peas, JUMP, and the shoe buyers for Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Barney’s New York.
Then after the show its the after party
Taboo proudly rockin his Zeelushed JUMPs.
You haven’t heard “I Gotta Feelin” until you’ve heard it sung you to live at a nightclub– sick!
